Accedian Ensures Strong Mobile Performance at FIFA-Sponsored 2015 Copa América Soccer Tournament

Fans, Media and Participants in the FIFA Sponsored Tournament Enjoy Best Possible Levels of Quality of Service During the Event

Santiago, Chile – June 30, 2015 – Accedian Networks, the Performance Assurance Solution Specialist who assured the performance of the networks at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, today announced its role as the performance monitoring and assurance partner of choice for the 2015 Copa América. The diverse mobile network relies on Accedian’s proven solutions to monitor and confirm contracted levels of service for local and roaming subscribers during the FIFA sponsored event, which runs June 11 through July 4.

The 44th edition of the tournament, hosted by Chile, is being played in Santiago and seven other major cities across the country. As part of South America’s football governing body (CONMEBOL), ten countries—-from Colombia to Argentina—are participating, along with Mexico and Jamaica. The winner of the tournament will qualify for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.

As an expanding part of an overall performance assurance solutions portfolio, Accedian’s PASSPORT Professional Services team also will provide mobile network monitoring support for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil, 2018 Winter Olympics in Seoul, and the 2020 Winter Olympics in Tokyo. The 2018 and 2020 Olympic events will see the first large-scale deployments of high-density 5G mobile technology—with South Korea set to demonstrate breathtaking download speeds and ultra-low latency performance two years before the ITU standards body is due to finalize the 5G specification.

“Accedian is clearly the vendor of choice for these types of complex, global connection points with carriers that want to deliver the most cutting edge levels of performance,” explained Accedian Founder, President, and CEO, Patrick Ostiguy. “Our multi-vendor monitoring systems, standards-based turn-up test solutions and real-time, network-wide reporting can be quickly installed into large-scale networks, and we’ve been working with the leading providers advancing 5G technology to help them pave the way to their networks of the future.”

Ostiguy elaborated: “Our PASSPORT Professional Services team provides the seamless integration, deployment logistics and results interpretation that make us a trusted partner with the incumbent mobile operators. While the Copa comes to an exciting close, we look forward to serving up our own exceptional performance at the Olympics!”

Accedian specifically supports these events through:

  • Full service lifecycle performance assurance, from activation to continuous SLA/performance monitoring
  • Proactive performance optimization, fault management and reporting
  • Optimizing network performance in real-time with Hierarchical QoS (H-QoS) and hardware-based traffic shaping, all without impacting high-priority, low latency flows
