Accedian Skylight Wins Leading Lights Award for AI and Analytics Innovation

The Leading Lights Award goes to Skylight Performance Analytics for innovative machine learning to detect, resolve and predict ‘invisible’ issues impacting network and service performance

Denver, Colorado, May 7 2019 Accedian, the end-to-end network and application performance experts, announced today that its Skylight performance analytics cloud-native analytics platform has won the award for “Most Innovative AI and Analytics Strategy” at the Light Reading Big 5G Leading Lights awards. This award was given “to the company that has devised the most innovative strategy built around the development or use of AI/analytics capabilities during the past year.”

Skylight analytics demonstrates excellence and innovation in using machine learning to uncover ‘invisible’ issues and anomalies impacting network, application and service performance. It is designed to provide a ‘telescopic’ view of network performance as well as the ability to drill down into how applications are behaving and affecting the customer experience in real time.

“We’re delighted to receive this award from Light Reading which recognizes Skylight’s innovative approach to identifying, predicting and preventing issues impacting the network and customer experience,” said Richard Piasentin, Accedian’s Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer.

He elaborated: “Accedian’s cloud-native analytics platform combines highly granular performance metrics from Accedian solutions with other third-party data, and uses machine learning and AI algorithms to detect anomalies from baseline performance. The resulting real-time insight is critical for the orchestration challenge in 5G automation. This kind of network and service intelligence is a prerequisite to meeting 5G’s stringent performance guarantees.”

“All the data now available is worthless if organizations cannot make sense of it,” said Iain Morris, editor at Light Reading. “Thanks to the analytics and machine learning tools being developed by some of the smartest people on the planet, companies in the telecom sector can increasingly put their data lakes to good use and realize value from the information they hold about networks, operations and customers.”

Skylight performance analytics is currently deployed in service provider networks in Europe and North America and more than 20 additional customer trials are underway globally.
