Accedian Wins Service Virtualization Award at the MEF17 Awards

MEF recognizes Accedian SkyLIGHT solution for NFV excellence and innovation

Orlando, Florida – November 16, 2017 –  Accedian, the end to end network performance experts, announced today that its SkyLIGHT virtualized performance assurance solution has won the Service Virtualization Award at this year’s MEF Awards. The winners were announced on 14 November at an awards party in Orlando, Florida, during the annual MEF17 conference.

The Service Virtualization Award is awarded by the MEF to the technology vendor that demonstrates excellence and innovation in the Network Functions Virtualization space.

“Virtualization and software defined networks are redrawing the infrastructure and connectivity landscape and transforming operators’ business models and services,” said Accedian CEO Patrick Ostiguy. “The Accedian SkyLIGHT platform lets telcos take full advantage of the commercial and technical benefits of virtualization – in terms of superior performance, cost-savings and an enhanced user experience for customers.”

“We’re pleased to receive this award from the MEF in recognition of the critical role of SkyLIGHT in delivering on the promise of virtualization and driving operators’ next-gen network strategies,” Ostiguy continued.

Accedian SkyLIGHT is the mobile industry’s first fully virtualized performance assurance platform. It employs network functions virtualization (NFV)-based, standard-based monitoring and remote packet capture. As a virtualized platform, SkyLIGHT offers high scalability, agile deployment, and broad geographical reach. It uses NFV to extend advanced monitoring capabilities across the entire network to directly deliver, enforce, and optimize quality of service from end to end.

SkyLIGHT delivers network-wide visibility to fixed and mobile operators, service providers, and enterprises, giving them the insight to fully control and provide the best possible user experience.

Today, more than 155 fixed and mobile operators, service providers, and wholesale carriers worldwide use SkyLIGHT. Accedian customers include more than 15 of the top 20 mobile operators worldwide; among them are: Reliance Jio (India); Telefonica (Germany and U.K.); T-Mobile Europe; SK Telecom (Korea); and TIM Brasil (Brazil).

In May 2017, Accedian launched the newest version of SkyLIGHT. Its improved NFV-based performance monitoring capabilities–for mesh and hub-spoke types of active testing–dramatically enhances the flexibility, scalability, and reach of one-way performance monitoring.

Operators can deploy the new SkyLIGHT completely virtually, with no dependency on proprietary hardware. Small form factor modules at the sender location monitor thousands of sessions from each module, with microsecond- level accuracy.
