Embrace equity, participate in our #IWD23 eight-word story contest!

Inspired by International Women’s Day, our own Diversity @ Accedian motto (Diverse is our heritage, more inclusive our future), and one of our favorite parts of Wired, the sci-fi six-word stories, we are launching our International Women’s Day 2023 eight-word story contest!

The contest: write an eight-word story on the International Women’s Day theme of Embracing Equity. In the spirit of diversity – any language, any syntax, any meter will be accepted!

How to take part: send us an email with your eight-word story to [email protected] or tag us on LinkedIn/Twitter (@Accedian) with the hashtag #diversityeightwords by March 31st, 2023 at 17:00 Eastern.

What’s in it for you? The winner will be announced on social media on Monday, April 3rd and a $500 CAD donation to one of our favorite diversity and inclusion education organizations, Equitas, will be made in their name. Equitas advances equality, social justice, and respect for human dignity through transformative human rights education programs in Canada and around the world.

We can all play a part! Each one of us can actively support and embrace equity within our own sphere of influence. Start influencing your social sphere with our IWD23 eight-world story contest. Here’s one eight-word story to get your creativity flowing!

“Embracing equity could start with just eight words.”

April 3rd update – Congratulations to our very own Accedian, Francois Marineau, whose submission was voted the clear winner! $500 CAD has been donated today in your name to Equitas! Thank you again to all of the supporters who took part – together, we CAN create a more equitable and inclusive world!
