Accedian Strengthens Asia-Pacific Sales Team with Appointment of VP Sales

Award-winning, ex-Ciena executive Anthony McLachlan will boost Accedians growth in region

Montreal, CANADA – June 20, 2018 Accedian, the global end-to-end network performance experts, today announced the appointment of ex-Ciena executive, Anthony McLachlan, formally Vice President and General Manager, Asia-Pacific. Anthony McLachlan joins Accedian as its VP APAC Sales to drive Accedian’s sales efforts in the APAC region and continue the company’s move into new market segments.

In his new role, Anthony will draw on his 20 years’ experience to support Accedian’s commitment to providing local leadership in the APAC region.

At Ciena, Anthony was responsible for the overall sales strategy and operations in the APAC region. Anthony joined Ciena in 2010 through the acquisition of assets from Nortel’s Metro Ethernet Networks (MEN) business, where he served as VP Carrier Sales in Asia. During his 15+ years at Nortel, Anthony held several senior management positions across Asia and the UK. Anthony was awarded the Nortel Networks CEO Award as we all as the Sales Circle of Excellence for 7 years consecutively.

“Accedian is undergoing an exciting transformation and we are placing a renewed focus on customer and partner engagement,” said Accedian founder and CEO Patrick Ostiguy. “In support, we need the experience and specialist ‘local’ expertise of industry veterans like Anthony who can drive our regional sales efforts and help Accedian expand in what is a strategically important region.”

Commenting on his appointment, Anthony said: “Accedian’s period of transformation and growth is an exciting prospect for any sales executive. I’m excited to take on this opportunity to build on our existing customer base in Asia, and drive Accedian’s sales efforts in the region to become an instrumental part of Accedian’s growth in the years to come.”

Anthony holds an MBA and bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Sydney, Australia. Anthony will be taking over the region from Dion Joannou, who joined Accedian in July 2017 as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and who managed the APAC sales team on an interim basis.
