Richard Piasentin
COO/CSO and CMO
As COO/CSO and CMO at Accedian, Richard leads Accedian’s entire service assurance portfolio, transforming how our customers assure their networks, differentiate their services, ensure end user experience, and get the most out of their network investments. He has been instrumental in driving the evolution of Accedian into an automated, cloud-native assurance platform with the most granular, end-to-end visibility available on the market. As the convergence of telco networks and webscalers continues to evolve, CSPs will require observability and analysis of service performance across multi-vendor, multi-domain, multi-layer, and multi-operator networking environments. Richard has been a thought leader, both at Accedian and in the industry at large, evangelizing the needs of his customers, fueled by his passion around achieving the art of the possible and removing barriers to innovation for the world’s largest Service Providers. At Accedian, Richard is also responsible for strategic planning processes and investment priorities, ensuring the creation and development of consistent brand communications and marketing strategy. He drives commercialization efforts in the areas of global product pricing, solution marketing, and business development, and oversees business operations to ensure efficiency, execution on vision, and attainment of targets. Richard began his career at Nortel Networks in 1992 as a test engineer for their public carrier switching division. From there, he segued into focusing on the wireless industry, taking on a variety of senior roles at Nortel within sales, operations, and supply chain during his 17 years at the company. After Nortel, he was vice president and general manager for BlackBerry’s North American business, and general manager of Viavi’s Visibility, Intelligence and Analytics (VIA) business unit. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, RF specialization, from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
