Accedian develops best-in-class network monitoring solutions, based on award-winning hardware, FPGA and software solutions that are deployed in carrier Ethernet networks and on enterprise premises.

What you will do

Accedian is seeking an Embedded Software Architect to join our engineering team. In this role you will be responsible for designing architectural “blueprints” and guiding the team in implementing high-quality, high-performance and reliable software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in embedded systems development and experience designing Ethernet switching solutions. The incumbent will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams (software, hardware, and FPGA) to deliver advanced product capabilities and features on our next generation products. We are looking for someone who is passionate about embedded systems, network and switching technologies, solving complex problems, and building innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the software architecture and design of Carrier-grade Ethernet switching solutions
  • Translate customer needs into technical software requirements that are well documented
  • Evaluate and select appropriate platforms and technologies in alignment with system architecture and business needs
  • Create comprehensive software architecture design documentation that clearly conveys the intent and objective to the development team
  • Review detailed software design documents to ensure alignment with the system architecture
  • Provide guidance to engineering team and help them solve technical design challenges in order to enable the development of cutting-edge solutions
  • Collaborate with globally distributed teams and partners to ensure integration and interoperability of products and solutions

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading and designing large scale embedded software and Ethernet switching solutions
  • Strong programming experience in C and C++ on Linux, multi-thread programming, and object-oriented design
  • Solid understanding of industry standards, network protocols and technologies (e.g., IETF IPPM, ITU-T Y.1731, IEEE802.1ag, TCP, UDP, IPv4/v6, Bridging and Routing principles, Netconf, Yang, SNMP, etc.)
  • Ability to build effective relationships across the entire organization, negotiate, influence, listen to contrasting technical opinions, and build consensus
  • Excellent communication skills; must be able to write technical documentation in English

Schedule

  • 8 hours per day
  • Monday to Friday
