Peter is responsible for the leadership of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region for Accedian Networks.
Over the past 30 years he has worked across the communications industry in a number of functions and geographies developing and executing strategies to manage change and grow and develop new business.
Most recently Peter lead the sales organisation for CIENA covering direct and indirect business into Northern and Eastern Europe and entering into significant new contracts across the region particularly in the UK, Netherlands, Nordics and Russia. He joined CIENA as part of the acquisition of Nortel’s Optical and Ethernet business where he was part of the divestiture team and also took a lead role in the highly successful integration of the business into CIENA.
Within Nortel Peter worked in a number of sales and business development roles across a range of complex markets and technologies and applications, including software based switching solutions, 2G/3G and 4G wireless technologies, optical and Ethernet solutions and professional services associated with these businesses.
Earlier in his career he has taken on roles in Product Management and Product Marketing as well as a 2 year period in Miami breaking into the CALA (Central and Latin America) market with Optical solutions.
Peter has lead the rollout of various sales methodologies across broad geographies, represented the business into external analysts and media across multiple countries and contributed to company strategy at both Nortel and CIENA.
He takes a personal pride in his success in developing new business and also the people that have worked for and with him over the years across the industry.
Peter holds a BSc. In Electronics from UMIST (Manchester) University, is married with twin boys and has broad interests including History, Football and Cooking.
